Instead of the traditional leather, the draw cord is cotton saturated in paraffin wax, meant to be expendable and replaceable, so as to be used as a potential fire starting aid or water resistant cordage in a pinch. Each one has more cordage than necessary and is made into knots to trim and use, or not- at your discretion. The toggles are hand crafted and fitted from white oak, and sealed with good old fashioned boiled linseed oil. I like to feel the leather and cut these by eye to lend them their own life, so they vary between 13 and 14 inches in diameter fully unfolded. These heavier duty leather bags weigh an average of 5.3 ounces or 150.252 grams.
